Old Navy Try-On: Double the Fun

Old Navy Try-On: Double the Fun

What do two moms do on a child-free, work-free Wednesday morning?  Shop, of course!  Emily and I were both heading to Old Navy yesterday morning, and we get so many requests to see outfits on each of our different bodies, so we thought why not try on the same things and give the people what they want!   This Old Navy Try-On is what we’re all about- dressing our unique bodies in affordable, accessible pieces that we love!

Before we get started sharing our goodies from our Old Navy try-on, here are some sizing stats:  Emily is all-over petite.  She is 5’3″, and typically wears a size XXS or XS tops and 00 or 0 pants.  I am 5’2″ on my best day, pear-shaped, and I typically wear a size S top, though I can sometimes wear an XS or M depending on fit.  I wear a size 4 pants at most places.   Note that Old Navy does not carry an XXS in store, so everything you see on Emily is a size XS unless otherwise noted, even if an XXS would be a better fit.

Old Navy Try-On Look #1:

We love these textured cowl neck sweaters!  Even better, you can score it for under $25 right now!  We are layering it with our favorite festive plaid shirt for a flash of Christmas cheer.  Emily is wearing XS in both tops, and a size 0 jeans.  I am wearing a medium sweater, though I would prefer a slightly closer fit with a size S.  My flannel is a size small, and I am wearing a size 4 jeggings.  I will likely order these jeans in the petite size.  These Rockstar 24/7 jeans are the first pair of pants from Old Navy that I have liked for my body.  I have dozens of gal pals that swear by this style for their budget denim favorite, and they promise that they don’t bag out in the thigh, which is my number one pet peeve when it comes to jeggings!

Old Navy Try-On Look #2:

Toast to the New Year in this adorable graphic sweatshirt!  You can always count on the besties for the best graphic tees and sweatshirts.  “Say it with a shirt” is a phrase we throw around often.  We layered this sweatshirt with the super soft luxe tee in pink stripe. These puffer vests are a total steal, currently selling for under $19!  Emily is wearing a size XS is all three pieces.  I am wearing small in all three.  The glitter sneakers run a bit large on me.  These are a size 9, but I could size down to an 8.  I normally wear a size 8.5.

Old Navy Try-On Look #3:

Old Navy is always on point with adorable graphic t-shirts and sweatshirts.  This one is an all-time favorite.  It says “Santa Understands” with milk and cookies.  Holy cuteness.   I am wearing a size small in both tops, and a size 4 in the 24/7 Rockstar Jeggings.  The jeggings are currently $25 and come in a wide range of sizes, including a mid rise and a high rise version.  These are also offered as a part of the plus line.  Those can be found in regular, tall, and short inseams here.  Emily is wearing an XS in both tops, and a size 0 in the jeans.  She added this $12 glitter bag to her look, which adds an element of playfulness and texture to this look.

Old Navy Try-On Look #4:

We are loving these new arrivals.  This mauve color is a winner on so many skin tones, including both of ours.  The tie-waist makes it feel very spring-appropriate, so you can get this one now and wear it until it gets too hot!  This funfetti knit (I don’t know if that’s a thing, but it is now) cardi completes the look by pulling out the mauve from the shirt.  I love this look for a casual workday, volunteering at school, or brunching with your gal pals. While I am wearing a size XS sweater, I would prefer to size up to a small for a slouchier look.  I am wearing a small shirt.  Emily is wearing an XS in both items.

Old Navy Try-On Look #5:

I spotted this sherpa lined Moto jacket in both gray and buffalo plaid, and I knew I NEEDED the buffalo plaid.  I sized down in this one for a fitted look.  Emily and I are both wearing XS here.  I know that sizing availability in the buffalo plaid is limited, but we’ll keep an eye on it post restock alerts via our Facebook group!  For around $38-42, these Moto jackets are a great deal.  They are fully lined with fleece, and I love the zipper detail at the wrist.

Old Navy Try-On Look #6

Emily is wearing a size XS in all items aside from the joggers as they were not available in XS in her store, I am wearing a size S in all items.  I would personally size up to a medium for the joggers because I feel they are too tight and too white to wear outside of the house in this size.  This hoodie is just so incredibly soft and cozy, and I have had this denim jacket for quite a while.   I had lost my identical jacket from Abercrombie and replaced it with this lower cost option.  I love the light wash and distressing!

We had so much fun with this try-on!  We hope that seeing these items on two different body types helps you envision these looks on your own body.  While we each have our own individual styles, I draw inspiration from their style when creating my own looks.  For example, I would have never tried on that mauve top and sweater. It turned out to be a look that I love and intend to order.  Like Emily says in our try-on highlight reel, LET YOUR BESTIES DRESS YOU!
