Today, Nordstrom will open the 2019 NSale to all shoppers- with and without Nordstrom credit cards. While it’s been really fun covering this sale as a blogger, the last big day of this sale has come and I ain’t mad about it. We are tired and ready to rejoin civilization. As the old adage goes- hindsight is always 20/20. We learned A LOT from last year’s experience. On Instagram stories, I shared all the items I kept this year, and in general I am REALLY happy with how I shopped the sale this year. However, there are a few things I could have done differently to shop the 2019 Nsale more effectively.
Please Note: We are aware that many of these items linked will be sold out once Public Access goes live. Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing what will and will not restock. And, as we’ve said 100 times, because things restock as returns happen, clicking on a link never hurts because you just NEVER know with Nordstrom. Check our Facebook page for the latest in stock updates.
WHAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT THE 2019 NSALE
First of all, public access starts today (Friday July 19) at 12:30pm EST. While some items will likely restock, many items will not. This is frustrating for people who spend a lot of money at Nordstrom but do not sign up for the card for whatever reason. We totally understand that, which is why we will also be bringing you some complete looks that you can buy now.
But, ultimately, they are just clothes. There is nothing in this sale worth paying above retail prices on resale sites for. Literally- nothing. There is nothing in this sale worth accumulating debt for. Something that I find interesting about this sale is that throughout the season, you will see the items come in and out of stock. At first they will be the sticker price, but as the year goes on, the items will be close to the 2019 NSale price. Many of these items will pop back up- mark my words that some will, and do not let someone take advantage of you. Even if you do not end up with the item you wanted most (Like this gorgeous thing), lots of styles will come out from different retailers and you might end up liking something else even more. For example, the bootie that everyone wants is already available from a different retailer.
WHAT I GOT RIGHT SHOPPING THE 2019 NSALE
Last year I overbought. I’ll just come right out and say it. It was our first year as bloggers, I was really excited, and I way, way over did it. This year I set a clear budget and I stuck to it! And while trying on ALL THE CLOTHES with my best friend was really fun (more of that here), this has forced me to be extremely conscientious with my choices, and as a result I love everything that I ended up keeping.

Another thing I felt that I got right shopping the 2019 Nsale was going for two versatile pieces that still make a statement. There’s no rule that a staple can’t also be fun and unique. The two items I most love are this leopard cardigan (it’s sold out- so you can find an awesome Amazon dupe here) and this adorable floral free people tunic. I am SO bummed that it is sold-out and I have all fingers and toes crossed for a restock in a few hours. It is so unique, and yet totally lends itself to being styled a bunch of fun ways for the perfect capsule wardrobe addition.
WHAT I DIDN’T DO SHOPPING THE 2019 NSALE THAT I SHOULD HAVE
One thing I didn’t do, and regret, was update some things like Spanx, bras, and underwear. Luckily, there is still a lot of great deals and decent inventory in these categories, but my budget is blown and I promised to stick to it!
By the time we were done shopping the 2019 NSALE we were exhausted. I did not have much left in me for browsing the accessories section. I wish I had, because there were a lot of good ones! One of my favorite items is this scarf that I did manage to pick up. There were a ton of great hats, sunglasses, and blanket scarfs included in the sale. This hat is the big winner, though it keeps coming in and out of stock. In the meantime, you can score a fun Amazon dupe for just $16.
The 2019 NSale was very successful. After getting a preview of what we can expect from retailers for fall, I am ready to wrap up summer. It doesn’t hurt that it’s supposed to be 99 degrees today. Stay cool, shoppers!
