Fall Capsule Wardrobe: Abercrombie Style

Fall Capsule Wardrobe: Abercrombie Style

Can you smell the Fierce cologne already? It ranks up there with Bath and Body Works’ Country Apple in most recognizable and memorable scents of 1999. It’s a fact. I stopped in my local Abercrombie the other day. Admittedly, I was there to return a pair of jeans that were too long (when will I learn that I need short). When I walked into the time machine to 2001, however, the new fall pieces literally jumped into my arms. The satin, the plaid, the sweaters, the fall tones- they all got me. I quickly realized how cohesive the fall line is and challenged myself to create a fall capsule wardrobe.

Abercrombie Denim as the Foundation

I am a jeans girl through and through, so when I created this fall capsule wardrobe, I started by choosing denim. I chose three pair that I felt would work with any look- medium wash super skinny, black distressed skinny, and a black wash mom jean.

If you have been here for awhile, it should not shock you that Abercrombie denim is my favorite of all the denim. I know what you’re thinking: Abercrombie denim used to ride so low that it showed allll the things. Well, don’t you worry your little 1998 mind. They have revamped their sizing and now include all rises- low, high, and ultra high. From super skinny, to jegging, to mom jeans, to slim, flare and more, there is an option for styling any look. I typically stick with the Simone High Rise Super Skinny in multiple washes. It is helpful that you can almost always find a sale, making them less than $40. I also love that I can easily grab them in a short inseam, making this 5’3″ girl very happy. They just released a curvy fit, and you can see Kristin’s review of them here!

The Perfect Blazer and Denim Jacket

Next, I worked from the top down choosing from the great variety of denim jackets, military jackets, and blazers. I chose a plaid blazer that I just knew would be the perfect on trend piece for fall. It was a great price point for such a great staple item. Next, I went with a bomber style jean jacket. If this silhouette isn’t your taste, they have a great regular denim jacket option. They do denim jackets as well as their jeans; which means they are impeccable.

The “Basics” of a Fall Capsule Wardrobe

I put the word basic in quotes because these tops are anything but basic. I chose a black bodysuit because I knew it would go with any and everything. I love the way bodysuits fit. They offer such a seamless look with any bottoms. If you aren’t so much into the bodysuit, their black tank is a great option. A lace cami was a necessity- they are so on trend for fall. I chose this gorgeous rust color to add a little bit of a pop to other neutral tones. Lastly, a striped top is just a must have for a casual look, and I love that these are soft AF (get it?).

The Softest Sweaters for a Fall Capsule Wardrobe

No itchy sweaters here! Abercrombie sweaters are so soft and cozy that you will want to wear them with everything from denim to joggers to skirts! The slouchy fit sweater is slightly cropped, but perfect with high rise jeans. You can size up for more length. The open cardigan is a true to size fit, and works for most any look. The wrap top is a lightweight sweater, and might just be the softest item I tried on. I am wearing XS but would prefer an XXS. All sweaters are available in multiple colors.

The Mini and the Midi

To round out the fall capsule wardrobe, I incorporated two skirts. With the right pieces they can work as both casual and dressy looks. The satin midi is the perfect fall shade. The fabric is just plain fun to wear, and it adds a feminine touch to a slouchy sweater or cozy cardigan. The plaid mini is a fun and stylish alternative to denim for an equally casual look.
